On the 17th of June 1979, Sardar Patel Trust met under the auspices of Shri Bhailalbhai Patel, Shri Ahmed Patel and other trustees to establish the Sardar Vallabhai Patel Rotary General Hospital.

The objective of this hospital was to include every community and thereby create a healthcare facility that complements the highest standards of medical care of the time.

The 15 gunta land donated by the Late Nathubhai Patel and another 18 gunta land given at a nominal price by his son Shree Hariwadhan Nathubhai paved the way to establish Sardar Patel Hospital with surgical, medical, maternity, ophthalmic, orthopaedic and gynaecological facilities.

The major challenge was to raise sufficient funds to build and equip the hospital with all possible modern facilities available at the time.

Shri Morari Bapu organized a Katha from 25.02.1981 to 5.03.1981 to seek donation. The Chief Organizer was Shri Natwarlal Mehta and 4 lacs were received from various donors.

On 25.05.1981, the foundation stone was laid by Haricharandas Tyagi - a saint.

Due to the good offices of Shri Ahmed Patel, Shri Harisingh Mahida and Shri Mulijbhai Sahania, an amount of Rs 3 lakhs was contributed by the District Planning Board.

When the construction was going on, Dr. Barjoji Ankleshwaria donated his house along with the an attached open ground to the hospital. Dr Barjoji Ankleshwaria also donated Rs 40,000 and handed over possession of land to the trust, along with an additional monthly grant of Rs 4,000. The building was inaugurated on 22.10.1985 by Harisingh Mahida. In this building, trusts spent Rs 89,984. Trust spent Rs 18,669 for dispensary. In 1986, on recommendation of GPCC President Ahmed Patel, Rs 3 L was given by Bharuch District Oil Field Development Society. The total area constructed was 16,000 Sq.ft with 36 bed facilities.
